News from 2015

November 1st, 2015

On 14th to 16th october the 7th Biennial Workshop on digital signal processing (DSP) for in-vehicle systems was held in Berkeley, CA, USA. Our group also participated at this workshop by means of organization and with contributions and the attendance at the workshop.

Topics like driver distraction, analysing the driver behaviour in order to improve in-vehicle systems and human machine interfaces, and many others were presented and discussed.

Again, we want to the thank the organizing team for the great workshop and the hospitality.

After several weeks of preparation and training four scientists of the DSS team finally obtained the conveted promotion from the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie for bringing smart scientific ideas to real products. Merikan Koyun, Christian Lüke, Stephan Senkbeil, and Jochen Withopf are so-called "EXIST founders" now - they get sponsoring within the program "EXIST Forschungstransfer". In the next 18 months they will work on applied speech and audio processing for automotive applications.

Special thanks goes to our partners from the center of entrepreneurship (Dr. Anke Rasmus, Gabriele Buda) and from the chair of technology management (Prof. Carsten Schultz) who helped a lot to be successful in this highly competitive selection process.

We wish the Exist team, called "ACE", all our best for the future.
